Preakness Events and Activities
Leading up to the Preakness is a week of events held throughout the Baltimore area. Visitors can attend events daily leading up to the race.
These are some events you do not want to miss out on.
Sunrise at Old Hilltop –
Visitors can enjoy a 20-minute walking tour of the stables and surrounding areas. During this escorted tour participants might even catch a glimpse of trainers, horses and jockeys if they are up and preparing. All tours are free but are on a first come, first served basis. Tours are available Tuesday through Friday from 6 to 9 a.m.
4th Annual Pre-Preakness Party – On Wednesday, May 17th guests can celebrate the Preakness early at the 4th Annual Pre-Preakness Party. Party-goers can enjoy bars, snack platters, door prizes, a silent auction among other entertainment at this event.
Alibi Breakfast – On Thursday, May 18th attendees are served breakfast while trainers, jockeys and owners of those involved in the Preakness race share what they know about the Preakness and what is required of them and their work to become the next legend. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. with tickets costing $50.
Girls Galleria – On Friday, May 19th
93rd Black Eyed Susan – Spectators can come and be apart of the oldest stakes races held at Pimlico. The Black Eyed Susan was first run in 1919 and is ran the Friday before the Preakness. This race is commonly known as the filly Triple Crown and includes the Kentucky Oaks and Acorn stakes. This event takes place on Friday, May 19th with gates opening at 9:30 a.m.
The Infield – Budweiser InfieldFest
If you’re attending the Preakness one way to spend your day is at the infield. The infield is full of activities, music, food and drinks.
Some activities include the U.S. Air Force for recruitment, U.S. Marines M1151 Humvee, B-2 Spirit/Stealth Bomber flyover, bikini contest and Tenor Anthony Kearns.
Along with entertainment and activities are food trucks, concessions, bar concessions and MUG Club which grants those 21 or older into festival party areas and stations where all beer is included in the club price.
The Budweiser InfieldFest allows spectators to enjoy various types of entertainment while they await the running of the Preakness.
There are two concert stages set up for spectators to enjoy nationally-recognized performances. This year those attending the Budweiser InfieldFest will see Sam Hunt perform on the main stage. The Dekuyper Stage will host Good Charlotte, LOCASH and High Valley.
